Welcome to the Department of Media

Information for Prospective BMedia Students 2009

Students enrolling in the BMedia in 2009 will need to complete three core (compulsory) units in their first year of study. These units are:

• MAS 110 Introduction to Digital Media Production (offered both semesters)
• MAS 104 Australian Media (Semester 1)
• MAS 105 Media Cultures (Semester 2)

The remainder of your first year program is made up of elective units. The Media Department recommends the elective unit MAS 115 Academic Cultures (offered both semesters).

In second and third year, you may major in a particular form of media production, or complete a selection of units in different production areas.  Refer to the BMedia study pattern for the options and requirements for theory and production units.
